Happy Anniversary to my Hubby

Four years ago today and it seems as if it has been twenty-five…fifty… while still  as new as one.

All my life and after two marriages; one ending in divorce and the other in death, I  always had the qualities in my mind of what the ideal husband would posess. You have them all.

I had grown comfortable in living alone and was not looking for you.

God answered the prayer I did not pray.  It was the same prayer I had prayed for so many years and finally stopped.  He heard me the first time but chose to answer when His time was right.  How thankful I am.

What a beautiful day we had four years ago today overlooking the water on Beaver’s Bend in Oklahoma at sunset.  The flower petals scattered around the rocky path as the torches glowed against the grey of night.  Our close family there to support our vows.  And the amazing 4 tier wedding cake made by a daughter who had rarely even put together a boxed cake mix.  It was a wonderous sight to behold.  Awesome.  A granddaughter  who played her flute before the ceremony and a son who walked me down the path to meet you.  Our initials carved in the tree as only youngsters do.

We’re come a long way in four years.  We now know what the senior years have to offer. Much of which involves BenGay, Corn Pads and Inhalers.

But at the end of the day and the first thing each morning when our eyes meet and we say “I Love You”, it comes so natural.  From the heart.  The two hearts that beat almost as one.

Happy Anniversary, my precious one.  How I love you.

WEDNESDAY’S WOMEN I ADMIRE

Do you ever reflect on the women who have made a difference in your life?  Oh yea,  of course we couldn’t do without the men.  Well duh….it did take one to get us here.  But that is another story in itself.  But the women………our sisters, our friends, the ones we see from afar.  They teach, nurture, console and a little of all the ones we look up to become a small part of who we are.  There have been so many wonderful women in my life and today I’d like to remember a few of them.

1.  My Mom who gave me so much of herself………most especially her creativeness and her sense of humor.

2.  My neighbor, Cheryl who is the hardest worker I know.

3.  My late mother-in-law, “Miz Pearl” who exemplified goodness.

4.  My on-line soul pal, Deena for her great courage and faith.

5.  Miss Ouida in Golden, Oklahoma, the matriarch of the entire community.

6.  Paula Abdul for always having a kind word.

7.  Jessica, my son’s girlfriend for being a super mom to her children.

8.  All my online art buddies who inspire and share of themselves.

and last but not least…………………..

9.  My oldest daughter, Lori for her great entreprenurial spirit and supportive nature.

10. My youngest daughter, Shari for her quest to work hard to better the lives of her family.

These are but a few and for each of these there is so much more I could say but I consider myself blessed to be able to take a smidgen of each one and strive to apply it to my own character.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

To ALL of you, my sweet blogger friends.  What an inspiration you are to me.  I hope your day is wonderful, peaceful, and full of God’s Blessings.  May it be everything you hope for and more.

Twenty years ago today I said “goodbye” to my Mother and did not see her again until one hour before her death.  November 19, 1988.  Twenty years…….such a long time.  Such fleeting time.  I miss you Mom.  What a difference it would be if we could have that time back.  I pray for the time with you one day where there will be no arguments, no quarrels and no resentments.  Only loving feelings and the chance to say “I’m sorry”.

We sometimes do not get the chance to say “I’m sorry” here on earth.  What a pity we do not realize it before it is too late.

My Mother was just a hoot!  She was so creative and frugal.  She could tell a joke with the best of them and what a keen mind she had.  Trivial persuit, scrabble, and jeopardy were a piece of cake for her.  She passed down many traits to me that I am grateful for today, and she had so many admirable qualities and virtues that went un-noticed and un-appreciated.

But she was above all my Mother and I have to keep reminding myself that as a mother, she held no grudges, she forgave me and she always loved me.  I know this because she was a mother.  She was my Mother.  That is what we as mother’s do.  We forgive.  We overlook.  We love.

Peace and Blessings to you all.  Mollye
